From Bundaberg City

To access Mon Repos, travel east from Bundaberg towards BARGARA. 8kms east of the city, you'll reach a large roundabout surrounded by sugarcane fields. Turn here towards the PORT, travel for 2 kms then take the first signed turn-off to the right - the small sign will say MON REPOS TURTLE ROOKERY. Follow this road almost to the beach and caravan park, turning off to the left just before at the TURTLE ROOKERY sign. This road will take you past the research lab to the road's end at the visitor centre car park.

From Bargara

If you are staying at Bargara, travel back towards Bundaberg along the Bargara Road until you see the Bargara State School on the right. Turn here down Potter's Road and at the end turn right. This will lead you along Grange Road into Mon Repos. If you are staying at Coral Cove, head north to Innes Park, then turn right towards Bargara at the first sign along Back Windermere Road. Turn left into Windermere Road, then right into Seaview Road. This T junctions with Bargara Road, turn left, then take the next right into Potters Road, then right into Grange Road. A free map is included on your ticket booking sheet, available from any blue and yellow Bundaberg Region Visitor Information centre, located at Bundaberg City (next to Bundaberg City Council), Bundaberg West (next to the Bundaberg Base Hospital), Guests staying at the Turtle Sands caravan park can access the centre by following a walking track.

Footprints Adventures offer transportation to expereince the Turtles at Mon Repos Beach, this service runs nightly during the turtle season. Ph: 4152 3659

Public Transport

There is no local bus service to Mon Repos Beach day or evening. Taxi Fares cost around $30 each way Ph: 4151 2345.

Disabled Access

For those with mobility access difficulties, boardwalks and ramps access all parts of the visitor centre - including toilets - and ramps lead to the beach. However - the beach is sandy and turtles may nest at some distance from the visitor centre or high in the dunes. A vehicle may be available on request to take visitors as close to the turtle as possible along a series of tracks, but this is a high clearance vehicle and may not be suitable for all needs. Check with staff before you visit.
